AHoAS was written as a first of its kind, documenting the maps, drawings and historical references of allotments across the city.

The design enables the text, references and images to be read simultaneously and uses large margins to allow footnotes. The headline type is set in Granby, a sans-serif typeface designed and released by the Sheffield-based type foundry Stephenson Blake.
